Frequently asked questions
Common questions about IMM.
Do participants need improv or performance experience?
No. IMM is designed to be accessible to people without previous improv or performance experience. The goal is participation and discovery, not becoming a performer.
Does everyone have to be funny or quick?
No. Participants are invited to listen, respond, make choices, and stay curious. Humor may emerge naturally, but being funny is not the objective.
Who is IMM designed for?
IMM can be adapted for youth, educators, community groups, mental-health and human-service organizations, workplaces, professional teams, and other groups interested in experiential learning.
Where do workshops take place?
IMM comes to the places where groups already gather, including schools, programs, community spaces, workplaces, and organizations. Location details are arranged with each host.
What workshop formats are available?
Current formats include a six-week youth and adult series, one-to-three-day professional intensives, and customized workshops designed around a group’s setting and priorities.
What is the difference between the 7 C’s and THRIVE?
The 7 C’s guide workshops for youth, education, community, mental-health, and human-service settings. THRIVE adapts the curriculum for professional workplaces and organizations.
Is IMM psychotherapy or mental-health treatment?
No. IMM is an experiential learning framework and curriculum. Although it is informed by professional experience and selected principles associated with established practices, it is not psychotherapy, clinical treatment, or a substitute for mental-health care.
Can a workshop be customized?
Yes. Workshop design can be adapted around the audience, setting, available time, organizational environment, and learning priorities while preserving the core IMM framework.
